Inspired by my own family history, losing a parent at 19, and watching a young widow, my mother, try to pick up the pieces and move forward, I realized at that moment how important it was to plan and prepare for what the future may bring. As a result of that experience, for the last 18 years, I have had the pleasure of guiding individuals & families toward a better life by sorting out the present, and then helping to create a picture and a plan for the future.

For the first 6 years of my career, the focus was on creating a financially healthy picture for clients. In utilizing a strategy of active listening and open discussions, it enabled me to gain insight into the lives of people. Through in-depth consultation, education, and then advice, we were able to bring all the pieces together so there was an understanding of where they were and what they wanted their future to look like. Clarifying short and long-term goals, a strategy would be developed and a plan was put in place to help them succeed!

In 2010, going through a divorce after 19 years of marriage, I was introduced to the concept of Mediation. After a divorce that was peaceful and amicable due to the efforts of mediation, I developed an interest in the area of Conflict & Dispute Resolution focusing on Marriage & Family Mediation. My training was completed at the Center for Mediation & Training in NYC, and then spent several years volunteering at the DRC (Dispute & Resolution Center of Putnam County) and Putnam County Family Court. In addition to volunteering, I developed a small private practice with the goal of helping families navigate all aspects of divorce from custody & visitation to child support, maintenance, equitable distribution, etc. An agreement would be created and with the nature of my background in finance, I was able to provide a complete understanding of the now current financial picture.

Throughout my career, and now as my journey continues at TJP Wealth Solutions, one priority has always remained constant and that is the idea of “putting people & family first”, and we will continue to incorporate that into every interaction.
